When is Property TDS Applicable?

TDS Payment on Sale of Immovable Property (Section 194IA)

Under the Income-tax Act, 1961, Section 194IA provides the rules for Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on the sale of immovable property.

Immovable property includes land, residential house, commercial property, office space, bungalow, flat, apartment, and other real estate assets. When the value of such property is ₹50 lakh or more, the buyer is required to deduct TDS at the rate of 1% from the payment made to the seller.
